Bicycle Recycling Network assists by diverting bicycles to various community groups in Sydney where they are refurbished and put back into the community. From bike art, wheelchairs for amputee victims, youth programs, preservation of historical bikes, bike fleets to bicycles being sent to third world countries the alternatives are varied.
In a society where we are trying to achieve sustainable living, bicycles are an ideal source to be utilized to reduce waste and pollution levels, improve health and increase social interaction.
We happily accept donations of bicycles but due to being volunteer based, we greatly appreciate it if you can assist with transporting the bikes to us. If we are not near you, we are happy to provide details of your nearest community group or drop off point.
If you are looking to obtain a bicycle or wish to donate one, feel free to contact your nearest community group. Groups are volunteer based so if you are looking for a bike you must be willing to help contribute in some form. Ie; by assisting with repairs or transport. They are not simply handed out for free. Community groups sustain themselves by a combined effort and skill sharing. Further details are provided on the links page under Bicycle Recycling.
